$3 ^{x} = t ( t > 0 )$라 하면 $\displaystyle t - \sqrt{t + 2} = 4$ ∴ $\displaystyle t - 4 = \sqrt{t + 2}$ ($t > 4$) 양변을 제곱하여 정리하면 $t ^{2} - 9 t + 14 = 0$ $( t - 2 ) ( t - 7 ) = 0$, $t = 2 , 7$ $\therefore t = 7$ ($\because$$t > 4$) $3 ^{\alpha} = 7$ $\therefore$$9 ^{\alpha} = ( 3 ^{\alpha} ) ^{2} = 49$
